RURAL CAMBODIA: Do You Have Five Dollars To Buy One Mosquito Net & Save Three Lives?

Photo © Morten Svenningsen All Rights Reserved

While I was cruising Nepal based photojournalist Morten Svenningsen's blog the other day I came across this great photograph of a mosquito and it reminded me to get off my behind and do something I've been meaning to do for a while.

What might that be you may be asking yourself.

Well folks, I just wanted to mention a great program initiated by The Cambodia Daily newspaper in 1997 called The Mosquito Net Campaign. The program helps Cambodia's poor people and if you've ever been laid up by dengue fever, (twice) malaria or encephalitis, you know this is important.

In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates about ONE MILLION PEOPLE DIE from malaria every year.

You don't have to be a billionaire to help the world and in fact, your FIVE BUCKS will save THREE LIVES since that’s how many family members can sleep inside one of these great mosquito nets!

HOW TO HELP

You can send your donation in cash or check, or take it to The Cambodia Daily office at 129 Street 228 in Phnom Penh.

Checks should be made out to "The Cambodia Daily Mosquito Net Program".

Donations may also be deposited directly into account # 30-060-2750 (Mosquito Net Appeal) of The Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia.

Credit card donations are also accepted. Please provide your name, credit card type, card number, expiration date and billing address by fax to 855-023-426-573 or email aafc@camnet.com.

Donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE in the USA and JAPAN.

So there you go! Now get out of here and save a few Cambodians' lives right now at http://www.save3lives.com.
